We are currently seeking a Contract Production Lead/Supervisor to collaborate with large scale electric distribution construction projects. This is a hybrid remote position, and the candidate must have experience with overhead & underground electrical distribution infrastructure. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide construction oversite on electrical distribution Site Development and Line/Substation construction projects.
  • Interpret complex plans and drawings.
  • Responsible for attending pre-construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed.
  • Manage and oversee site development crews.
  • Perform safety audits on crews and track/report findings. Collaborate with crews to mitigate deficiencies.
  • Monitor and report to Project Management on status of construction units estimated and actuals billed to date of project.
  • Assure that all field operations are in compliance with permits, including road use permits, natural resource protection act permits, Corp of Engineers permits, etc.
  • Document pre- and post-work field conditions to make sure that sites are in compliance with permits and environmental regulations and there are no conditions that require mitigation or restoration.
  • Assist in developing recommendations on future R-O-W maintenance requirements.
  • Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public.
  • Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations.
  • Respond to emergency call-out and storm restoration needs with little advance notice.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Field and Management experience OH and URD Electrical Distribution.
  • Communication skills pertaining to Field Production and also Production Management.
  • Understand safety policies.
  • Knowledge of Florida Power and Light applications and construction standards.
  • Must live within 45 minutes from FPL assigned service area(Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach).
  • Must be available for Storm response and Area Duty.
  • Physically fit to walk uneven terrain and inclement weather.
  • Basic computer and Smart Phone skills.
  • Desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
  • Strong public relation skills/ability to interface with the public.
  • Willingness to work alone.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all company driving safety standards.


WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Construction Management, Building Science, or a degree related to these fields.
  • Previous construction crew senior management experience.
  • Knowledge of programs such as WMS, StormForce, ADMS, and RSV.
  • Line Worker certifications.
  • GIS Experience.
  • Strong knowledge ANSI & OSHA safety standards.
  • Military background.
  • Bi-Lingual speaking (English and Spanish).
