- Perform duties that are semi-routine involving an intensive practical knowledge of duties related to electric power lines. Most duties are performed within the limits of standard practice but there are occasions where a variety of procedures could be used, and judgment must be considered to determine what action should be taken. A supervisor may not always be present, thus requiring independent action by the Lineman. The Line Superintendent provides supervision to ensure that all job requirements are accomplished. When working on a crew, general guidance and direction are received from the Working Foreman. When engaged in service work, the employee plans and arranges own work receiving only general direction from the Line Superintendent. Contacts with others are considerable as a Lineman's responsibilities call for contact with consumers and members. These contacts can influence the members' opinion of the Cooperative.
We are excited to speak to someone with the following...
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least four years of apprenticeship training as a Lineman II or apprentice in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines.
- If no apprenticeship was served, a minimum of four years' experience related to line construction and maintenance will be required.
