Timberline Construction Inc. (FB Timberline) is seeking Substation Groundman with 1 to 3 years' experience (full-time, permanent) to support the operations team for our transmission line construction project based out of North and South Carolina. This successful candidate will work at various locations in North and South Carolina and may be required to travel to other states for future work opportunities.
The Groundman will work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas and works with various pieces of construction equipment specific to the trade. A Substation Ground Person may work independently or with others, occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions

Key Responsibilities:

- Digging and backfilling trenches, pulling and placing underground and overhead cables
- Carrying and moving materials as needed
- Operating equipment and hand tools, spotting for vehicles and equipment
- Clean heavy equipment when required and ensure it is safely and securely stored
- Site setup and cleanup, ensuring trash, debris and other potentially dangerous materials from the construction site are removed
- Assisting craft/crew members with work as directed
- Follow instruction and adhere to safe work practices
- Development of skills on varied and challenging tasks
- Perform additional laborer tasks and duties as assigned
- Adhere to Forbes Bros Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the construction industry is required
- CDL A license with air brakes is required
- CSTS, Fall Protection and Ground Disturbance Level 2 certifications are required
- General knowledge of the principals involved in the operation of construction and maintenance methods and procedures is required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
- Ability to recognize site hazards and implement hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards with crew members
- Able and willing to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/site work schedules
- Able and willing to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions, climates, and environments at various heights inclusive of heavy lifting
