The Opportunity

We are looking for Aerial Groundman local to the Austin & Porter, TX area to support our operations from the ground floor! This position reports to the Director of Operations and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active, well-funded team, gain valuable experience, and advance your career as GRC grows.

 

Responsibilities

     Assist aerial linemen with materials, tools, and equipment during the installation and maintenance of overhead fiber optic and telecom networks.

     Load, unload, and organize tools and materials at job sites.

     Operate basic equipment such as reel trailers, pulling machines, and small tools.

     Maintain a clean and safe job site by properly storing materials and disposing of waste.

     Provide traffic control and safety support as needed.

     Perform basic inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

     Follow directions from foremen and linemen to complete tasks efficiently.

     Adhere to all company and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Aerial Lineman in telecom or utility construction.
  • Proficiency in using aerial construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and procedures, including fall protection and electrical safety.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal safety instructions
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding worksite hazards and procedures
  • Read safety signage, manuals, and technical instructions
  • Participate in safety briefings and emergency procedures


Preferred Qualifications

     Experience in telecom, construction, or utility work (a plus but not required).

     Familiarity with safety standards, including OSHA and traffic control regulations.

     Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Additional Information

 

Hourly Range: $22-$27 Hourly, based on experience

Schedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday

Travel Requirements: 100%

Role Openings: 2

Target Start Date: 2-3 weeks from offer
