Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an Underground Lineman Apprentice 3-8 to join our T&D team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves assisting skilled linemen with the construction, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical distribution and transmission systems, adhering to strict safety protocols and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical distribution systems.
- Perform underground cable installation, conduit placement, trenching, and related utility construction activities.
- Assist with setting transformers, pedestals, vaults, and other underground electrical equipment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in underground utility construction.
- Load, unload, stage, and organize materials and equipment at job sites.
- Assist Journeymen Linemen, Foremen, and other field leadership as directed.
- Follow all company and job-site safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in daily job briefings, safety meetings, and required training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform physical labor in varying weather and job-site conditions.
- Work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as required by project needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience consistent with Underground Lineman Apprentice Levels 3–8.
- Previous experience in underground electrical distribution, utility construction, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of basic underground utility construction practices and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a field crew.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, climbing, digging, and working around trenches and underground facilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL preferred or required depending on apprentice level and project needs.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Must successfully complete all applicable pre-employment requirements.
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed outdoors in active construction environments and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, uneven terrain, traffic, heavy equipment, and other typical utility construction conditions.
